About Yuri Solomon

Dr.
Yuri Solomon is founder and president of WordTalk Ministries, a para-church
ministry aimed at communicating essential Christian doctrine in a simple,
practical, and pertinent way to believers. He has served in the pastorate for
over 15 years, and has been preaching the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ for
over 30 years. He is the author of two books, Just for You and Biblical
Masculinity.
Ordained a Baptist minister in 1993, Reverend Solomon holds degrees in Theology
from Gospel Ministry Outreach Theological Institute, and Biblical Counseling
from the College of Biblical Studies-Houston. He has taught as an adjunct
professor at Inter-Baptist Theological Center.
Known most widely for his orthodox stance on classical Christian teaching, he
has lectured nationally on an array of subjects including, Christian
apologetics, the art and science of preaching, spiritual growth, his book,
Biblical Masculinity, and music in Christian worship.
He presently serves as Senior Pastor of New Life Baptist Church, 3rd Vice
moderator in the Ark of Love District Association (local), the official teacher
of the Minister’s Conference in the Ark of Love District Association, former
Secretary of Education for Union Baptist Fellowship (state), President of the
South Area Fellowship, former Chairman of the UBF Scholarship Committee,
Chairman of the Corporate Board of Jesus is Alpha & Omega Ministries, and
Treasurer of the Equipping the Saints Outreach Coalition. In 2009 Reverend
Solomon was appointed by Texas Governor Rick Perry, as one of a nine member
board, to the Task Force for the Reduction of Child Abuse and Neglect.
Prior to becoming a full time Pastor, Reverend Solomon enjoyed a distinguished
career in Computer Science. As an accomplished musician, he has enjoyed playing
piano and organ. Reverend Solomon and wife, Katrina reside in Houston. They have
three children: Laura, Ale'ycia and Yuri II.
